Kathleen DeMolli Shirley PT,OCS,GCS is a physical therapist who specializes in treating
the older adult. Since graduating with a BSPT from East Carolina University in 1981 she
has worked in acute care, outpatient settings, private practice and home health seeing
children as young as 3 weeks to adults over 100. With neurological patients being her
first love she completed the Adult NDT certification course work in 1983. She then
became exposed to orthopedic manual therapy completing course work by Paris,
Kaltenborn, Maitland and Butler. In 1986 Kathleen worked in one of the first “Work
Hardening”, Functional capacity assessment centers for injured workers in Florida.
From 1988 – 1999 she was co-owner of a private practice specializing in Physical and
Occupational therapy for Rheumatologic disorders. In 1997 she created the “Healthy to
the Bone” Elementary school based education and prevention program for
Osteoporosis. Over the years she has taught this program to over 1000 students and
the program concept has spread throughout the US. In 2003 seeing the need to better
understand the vestibular system and its impact on movement and function she
completed the APTA Herdman Vestibular competency. In 2005 Kathleen completed the
APTA Landel Cervicogenic Dizziness competency.  She presently lives and works in Dallas Texas
